The Man from Planet X – 1951 – United States
A scientist discovers a planet (christened Planet X) whose erratic orbit will soon bring it near Earth. The scientist establishes a secret observatory in the spooky, foggy moors outside an English village. He speculates that the village will be the closest point to Planet X when it passes Earth. The scientist, the scientist’s lovely daughter, the scientist’s unscrupulous assistant, and a newspaper reporter prepare for Planet X’s approach.
Detour – 1945 – United States
A piano player named Al hitchhikes from New York to L.A. to visit his girlfriend in Hollywood. He catches a ride with a loud-mouthed pill-popping bookie, who keels over dead suddenly and mysteriously. Suffering from a paranoid delusion, Al convinces himself that he will be accused of the crime. In a panic, he takes the bookie’s car, money, and identity and flees to L.A.
Beyond the Time Barrier – 1960 – United States
While testing an experimental suborbital jet, a pilot is inadvertently warped 60 years into the future. Earth is a wasteland. Atomic tests in the late 20th century destroyed the ozone layer, bombarding the planet with cosmic radiation. Bald mutant savages roam the surface while civilization hides in a high-tech underground citadel. The underground dwellers are deaf, mute, and sterile. Their only hope for survival is a cute girl with ESP who can somehow bear children.
